Study Description:
The purpose of this study is to see how effective and safe an eczema balm (compared to 1% hydrocortisone cream) and hand cream is when used over 4 weeks.
Study Requirements:
- Must be Caucasian Hispanic.
- Must have active atopic dermatitis with at least 1 active lesion of eczema and/or dermatitis on the face or body.
- Males only: If your affected area is the face/neck you must have no light facial hair ( eg, no beard, mutton chops, etc) so the face and neck are visible for assessments, and be willing to shave within 24 hours of each visit (a small mustache and/or goatee is allowed as long as the majority of the face and neck are shaved and the affected area is visible).
- Cannot have any significant medical conditions that are not controlled by diet or medication. If you are taking more than 5 medications, you may not be able to participate.
- Cannot currently be participating in another study at SGS, another research facility or doctor’s office.
- Cannot have participated on a study involving the areas with eczema or atopic dermatitis at SGS, another research facility or doctor’s office within the past 2 weeks.

Visit 1 Instructions
- Avoid application of any skin moisturizing products to treat eczema for at least 3 days and medicated products to treat eczema for at least 5 days prior to the first visit.
- Males only: If your affected area is the face/neck you must have no light facial hair ( eg, no beard, mutton chops, etc) so the face and neck are visible for assessments, and be willing to shave within 24 hours of each visit (a small mustache and/or goatee is allowed as long as the majority of the face and neck are shaved and the affected area is visible).
- Please bring a valid ID or passport.
- Your first visit could take up to 2-2.5 hours.
