Study Description:

The purpose of this study is to assess and compare how effective and tolerated skin care products are over the course of 4 weeks.

Study Requirements:

 

  • Must have very dry or severely dry skin on the lower legs and have a history of one of the following: atopic dermatitis, xerosis, or currently be using a medication with having side effects that cause xerosis.
  • Must have very itchy skin on the lower legs.
  • Cannot have any significant medical conditions that are not controlled by diet or medication. If you are taking more than 5 medications, you may not be able to participate.
  • Cannot currently be participating in another study at SGS, another research facility or doctor’s office.
  • Cannot have participated on a study involving the legs at SGS, another research facility or doctor’s office within the past 4 weeks.

Visit 1 Instructions

  • If you would like to use sunscreen during the study, bring the sunscreen (without moisturization claims) to the clinic at your first visit for documentation.
  • If you 55-85 years of age, use a normal basic cleanser for bathing (with no moisturizing claims that has been used for the past 30 days without irritation) for at least 5 days prior to your first visit.
  • Must shave your lower legs 24 hours before the first visit.
  • Dress to allow easy access to the lower legs for assessments.
  • Please bring a valid ID or passport.
  • Your first visit could take up to 2 hours.
