Sunscreen Studies
Study Description
Our sunscreen studies help evaluate how well sunscreen products protect the skin from the sun and confirm they are safe to use. During the study, sunscreen is applied to small areas of your back, followed by controlled exposure to simulated sunlight to measure how well the product performs. Some studies also evaluate water resistance after water exposure. Participation may require several clinic visits, and compensation typically ranges from $50 to $250, depending on the study.

Requirements
Must
- Be able to read and understand English or Spanish.
- Be willing to have your back examined by a study nurse.
- Have a Fitzpatrick skin type I, II, III, or IV.
- Be willing to have sunscreen applied to your back during the study.
- Be able to lie on a massage table while simulated sunlight is applied to your back.
- For water-resistant sunscreen studies: Be willing to wear a swimsuit while entering and exiting a whirlpool.
Cannot
- Cannot participate in a water-resistant sunscreen study if you are not willing to wear a swimsuit while entering and exiting the whirlpool.
Visit 1 Requirements:
- Be available to attend all required study visits at SGS 3 to 4 consecutive visits.
