Study Description:
This study is being done at one clinic to learn how daily water intake may affect the skin. Premenopausal women who drink either high or low amounts of water will take part. The study lasts 7 days and includes two visits, where researchers will evaluate facial appearance, skin condition, hydration, and collect biological samples.
Study Requirements:
Must:
- You must have either high or low daily water intake
- You must meet urine hydration levels (high or low group).
- You must have a BMI between 18.5 and 30.
- You must complete a food and beverage questionnaire.
- You must be willing to be weighed and measured.
Cannot:
- You cannot be menopausal.
- You cannot have adhesive allergies
- You cannot take supplements for skin or hair (e.g., collagen, biotin)
- You cannot be on a weight-loss diet or medication (including GLP-1) – You cannot be a performance athlete (high-intensity training)
- You cannot have recently changed diet or water intake habits
Visit 1 Instructions
- If your Visit 1 appointment is in the morning, do not consume any food from the time you wake up until the visit is completed, and avoid fluids (e.g., drinks, soups) for at least 1 hour before the visit; if your appointment is in the afternoon, do not consume food or fluids for at least 1 hour before the visit and until the visit is completed.
- Bring a valid government-issued ID or passport.
